This qualification provides the learner to develop knowledge and skills which can be applied in a variety of work environments with in the security industry. It is aimed at those learners who want to further their development from the licence to practice qualification. The qualification allows the learner the opportunity to gain credit across a wide variety of areas relating to the security industry which means it can be tailored to requirements in their own job role. The learner will be awarded a generic qualification or, for those who want too specialise, there are three endorsed pathways :
- STATIC AND PATROL GUARDING
- DOOR SUPERVISION
- CCTV OPERATION

This qualification is particularly suitable for those who are currently employed with in the security sector including.

- EVENTS SECURITY.
- KEY HOLDING AND RESPONCE.
The minimum age for access to the qualification is 18 years old.
RESTRICTIONS ON LEARNER ENTRY
There are no specific restrictions on leaner entry; however learners will need to demonstrate competence in the use of the English language (both oral and written).
No specific prior learning , experience and/or qualification is required for learners undertaking this level 2 certificate in providing security services. However learners will need to
- Read and /or interpret given tasks
- Produce answers that are clear, logical and understandable
- Organise relevant information clearly and coherently
- Make decisions based on underpinning knowledge
- Carry out activities to a required standard
